Assisted class:

Buddy classes:
3 hr group lessons consisting of two students assigned to each horse. Students support each other while grooming, tacking, and getting on and off the horse. One has riding instruction while the other learns horse science then, they switch. Class ends with some fun "ride at will" time.
Home School Class:

Intermediate Class:
3 hrs for students with horsemanship skills only able to ride once a week.
Advanced Class:
2 hr invitation class usually requires riding three days a week.
Private lessons:
One to two riders per lesson for 1 1/2 hrs of instruction.
Adult class:
1 1/2 hrs lesson geared toward those wanting to brush up or gain horsemanship skills
Due to the progressive nature of our program(s) it's strongly recommended you schedule a lesson each week. In an attempt to keep lessons at an economic value it is the policy at Son Rise to provide lessons by the month with payment due for the entire month.
Payments are required to be received by the 7th of the month. $20 late fee, or $25 late charge if not payed in month of service. Adults have a choice of normal lesson fee, or membership fee equal whether you make all lessons or not.
A fee of $25 applies for unarranged late payments received after the 7th (prior arrangements can be made so I'm allowed to budget accordingly). A fee of $25 also applies in the case of bad checks.
If you end up having an unscheduled absence missing a lesson you've paid for AND I receive a courtesy call you'll receive credit for a make-up lesson (can NOT be used toward your normally scheduled lessons). Make-up lessons can be used toward an extra lesson, special events, ranch attire or summer camps. If a student has three unpaid lessons in a row he/she will forfeit their regularly scheduled lesson spot and may be placed on a waiting list.
Students may be dropped off & picked up 1/2 hr before or after lessons without prior arrangements, anything outside this time allowance should be pre-arranged.
ALL Riders MUST have a current wavier / medical release BEFORE they ride. Failure to follow this policy may result in your dismissal. Helmets are to be worn any time you are on the same side of the fence as a horse (18yrs & over must wear helmets when riding, but may use their discretion on ground).
NO ONE works with horses without someone else present on property. An adult must be present unless you are certified level "A" or higher. The two pair of eyes rule applies for controlled environments (like arenas) and the buddy system of three (one stays, one goes for help) applies for non-controlled environments (like trail riding). Long pants & footwear with one inch heel, without heavy tread , reaching above your ankles required for riding (boots & helmets supplied at the ranch). No gum chewing while riding. Only use rope halters for training, please don't use them to tie your horse.
Leasing
First & last month's lease fee required at time of lease agreement. Must make at least two lessons a month
Owned Horses
A first & last month's board is due upon move in. Horse owners must visit their horse on average three times a week and make arrangements for another to do so in their extended absence. Horse owning students must make a minimum of two lessons a month. All horses must be vaccinated annually & dewormed minimally every three months with adequate farrier service at the owner's expense.
Work Program
Must have a "D" level or higher horsemanship certificate to be eligible
